Veteran English midfielder James Milner was a second half substitute as Liverpool side came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw at newly promoted team Fulham on Saturday. James Milner and his Liverpool teammates had to settle for a draw in a game they were expected to win. The game was their Premier League opener for the new season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp went for the tried and trusted midfield trio of Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and skipper Jordan Henderson in the Fulham game with Milner on the bench. The Liverpool midfielders dominated possession in the first half, but it didn’t lead to goals. Fulham had lesser possession than the Reds and despite this, they were able to go into the halftime interval with a one-goal lead thanks to the header from Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. Mitrovic saw off the challenge of Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold to power a header into the back of the net on 32 minutes off the cross from Fulham right-back Kenny Tete. (more…)

Veteran Liverpool midfielder James Milner made his return to the Premier League scene this weekend after missing the last few weeks due to an hamstring problem. He made his return to the Premier League squad at Liverpool for the home game against Southampton.

James Milner had earlier made his injury return for the Reds during the Champions League home clash with FC Porto on Wednesday night. He came on as a substitute after Liverpool had scored two second half goals to seal a 2-0 victory over their Portuguese opposition. After a goalless first half, Spanish midfielder Thiago Alcantara scored a long range effort at the start of the second half for his first goal in a Liverpool shirt before topscorer Mohamed Salah wrapped up the win with the second Reds goal on 70 minutes. The win over Porto ensured that Liverpool maintained their unblemished record of winning all the games in their group as far as this season’s Champions League campaign is concerned.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson was part of the England squad to the Euro 2020 tournament and he’s gradually working his way back to full fitness after an extended holiday due to the Euros. Henderson sat out the Reds’ Premier League opener at Norwich City. In his absence, vice captain James Milner took the armband.

James Milner started the Norwich City game and he was one of the best players on the pitch. Retired England international Number was in the Liverpool midfield alongside Brazilian player Fabinho and Guinean international Naby Keita.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner seems to have put all the transfer speculations regarding his future to rest after his latest comments. The English midfielder was, toward the end of last season, being linked with an exit from Anfield as reports began to suggest that he may be playing in his final season in a Liverpool shirt. But following his latest comments, he has put those speculations to rest and has hinted that he is already planning and focusing on the upcoming season where he will be looking to have a better campaign with the Reds than the previous season.

Milner was not called up to the England squad and remained at Anfield as he continued some little personal training routines in preparation for their pre-season tour. Liverpool are expected to prepare for the 2021-22 Premier League season by embarking on a pre-season tour where they will be playing a couple of friendly games for players to regain their full match-fitness before walking onto the pitch for the first Premier League game of the new season in August.

Veteran Liverpool midfielder James Milner has insisted that they will do their best to ensure that they secure Champions League football ahead of next season. Milner made the statement after Liverpool sealed a comprehensive 3-0 over Burnley in the Premier League on Wednesday evening at the Turf Moor. Goals from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nathan Philips, and Firmino gave the Reds a huge chance to book a top-four finish and boost their chances of playing among Europe’s elite clubs next season.

It was generally a great game for Jurgen Klopp’s men as they took control of the tie right from the start till the end. Although they were not able to break the deadlock until the 42nd minute of the game, they completed what was an impressive and vital win that has a huge role to play in their chances of ending the season in the top four in the Premier League.

Merseyside giants Liverpool have themselves to blame after they lost further grounds on Chelsea in the race for Champions League football next season due to the dropped points at home to Newcastle United in their latest league game at home.

Liverpool knew that a win over the Magpies would take them into the fourth and final Champions League place before the London Derby clash between fellow contenders West Ham United and Chelsea but they were unable to secure that win thanks to the fighting spirit shown by the Newcastle United players.

Veteran Liverpool midfielder James Milner is always at his full capacity in training according to young teammate Rhys Williams. Welsh international centre back Rhys Williams has been promoted to the first team at Liverpool this season due to the injuries to three key centre backs. Reds central defenders Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil Van Dijk have all missed the majority of this season as a result of injury. Rhys Williams has had to fill in for the injured trio in some games, while midfielders like Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have had to cover for the injuries by playing at the heart of the defence.

In his recent interview as monitored by The Boot Room (TBR), Rhys Williams said that James Milner and Andy Robertson are the two players that are always at full capacity in training and that they are difficult opponents during training. James Milner is a veteran player at the age of 35 and it is uncertain whether the ex-England international will play for Liverpool next season. James Milner has a few months left on his contract with the Reds meaning that the veteran player will be a free agent in the summer.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner had been tipped to secure a return switch to Leeds United – where it all began for him – in the future. The advice was rendered by Dean Windass who was a guest on Football FanCast and was asked what he thought about the possibility of the Liverpool player returning to his former club.

Milner began his professional football career at Elland Road playing for Leeds but has not featured for the club since 2004. Since leaving the club, he has gone on to play for several other clubs in the top-flight division, including the likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and currently, Liverpool. No man is an island and he will always be a social animal. It’s not even a choice. Any association that brings two or more people together always has comparisons and differences tarrying along.

In football, trophies invariably take first place, first point of call to reflect on your club and check how much they’ve sucked over the years in comparison to others, especially close rivals.

James Milner have Intensity, Which Liverpool Need for Run-In

From his regular role of midfield, James Milner now moved to the full-back. The experience and attitude of this veteran player are significant in attack as well as in defense.

These players have been made for game and nights like this one, and now Jürgen Klopp also realizes the same. James Milner is now 33, but the enthusiasm and desire of this midfield typify what Klopp wants to see in his players. The suspension of Andy Robertson would most probably save the manager worrying about whether or not this veteran midfielder should play in the game.
