JAMES MILNER RETURNS TO ACTION FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool player James Milner has returned to feature for his side in the second game of the season in the Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

The midfielder is likely to feature in the left back position when he returns to a beefed up Reds squad, who are keen on fighting for the trophy this season. He was pictured in the training session with his team mates at Melwood, with coach Jurgen Klopp leading the session.

The training session had in attendance the full squad, with Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez missing due to injury. Danny Ings was pictured in good condition after his goal in the under 23 team. Daniel Sturridge was doing fitness work ahead of the game against the newly promoted side.
Burnely would be hosting the team with the hope of upturning their fate after losing their last game to Swansea City. On the other hand, the Merseyside club will be looking at their second successive win after their 4-3 pushover of Arsenal. (more…)

James Milner And His Skills

James Milner is one of those players who had been pursued by illustrious clubs like Arsenal.

Last season the club had pursued the player though at the end they allowed Liverpool to take him over. This time they might be reviewing their decision and whether they should have pursued the case more diligently. Indeed the England midfielder could become an asset to any team that he joins up. He is considered one of the top players of England and Arsenal would definitely have benefited from him being part of the team. Arsenal has been waiting to win a major title and the drought of winning titles at the Premier League is definitely giving this team food for thought.

Borussia Dortmund fixture must have taken a lot out of the Reds’ players

The Borussia Dortmund fixture must have taken a lot out of the Reds’ players emotionally.

They were absolutely gone for all money, were Liverpool, when the score was reading 3-1 for Dortmund with just half an hour for the whistle to be blown.

Well now with that dramatic comeback, Jurgen Klopp and his boys can come and say ‘Oh, we always believed we were in it’ and all that.

You would like to believe they have earned the right to say so and if they say so, it would be justifiable.

But, one would assume that hardly anyone sitting in that dugout was dead sure that the situation could be turned around.

When you concede 3 goals at home and are 2-4 down on aggregate in the return leg of a Europa League quarter final and the second half is already half done, how can you even tell yourself that you are still there in the game?

But, in sports, passion combined with home support can make you overcome mountains and what Liverpool did was surely like overcoming a mountain.

Dortmund, well spare a thought for them; they were far better a unit for about 2/3rd of the game. They would be dispirited and that’s how they should be.

For Liverpool though, the business continues and they are into another contest straightaway, the assignment this time for them is a Premiership fixture against Bournemouth. (more…)

JAMES MILNER: “WE SEEM TO BE IN RHYTHM AT THE MOMENT”

English International, James Milner, said that his current team Liverpool are in a great place since finding rhythm.

The 30-year old Ex-Manchester City central midfielder moved to Anfield this season on a free transfer and has gradually blended with the team.

The player is responsible for corners and has been flopping of late that even coach Jürgen Klopp commented using a strong word. However, his crossing from open play, however, is in a completely different league. It was his peach of a centre that Dejan Lovren stuck away in stoppage time to invite bedlam to break out and the Liverpool captain’s support play broke Everton’s resistance with crosses from the left and right wings leading to two goals in quick succession at the end of the first half.

On Klopp, Milner told the club website:

“The manager’s style is a bit more second nature than it was a few months ago, we know how he wants to play and everyone is on the same page. I think you can see that in the performances. (more…)

James Milner has reflected on the upcoming match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield

James Milner has reflected on the upcoming match between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.

He believes that this match gives a great opportunity to get the club back on the winning track. Both clubs have struggled for form this season, but the situation at Liverpool has been getting worse in recent weeks. The honeymoon period for manager Jurgen Klopp looks well and truly over after sloppy defeats against teams from near the bottom of the table. Milner came to the club in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester City and he immediately found himself as one of the leaders in the squad.

The former Aston Villa winger says that it is clear that both United and Liverpool have not been at the best this season. However, he went for the home team will help them build some confidence ahead of the upcoming matches. Since Klopp’s results against the top teams have been excellent, they are expected to dominate this home match. United, meanwhile, continue to struggle in front of goal and this has been their major Achilles heel under Louis van Gaal. Wayne Rooney’s return to form, though, is a major boost for the Red Devils, who still remain in contention for the league title success according to Van Gaal. (more…)

James Milner joined Liverpool because he wants assured playing time in the central midfield role

James Milner played in 31 Premier League matches for Manchester City of the past season, just by judging from this statistic and amount of games played for his club, anyone would consider the English midfielder to be an important and regular player for the Premier League club but after taking a closer inspection things aren’t as great as it seems like for Milner at the Etihad Stadium as he spends a large period of time on the bench.

Out of the 31 league matches that he played for City in the previous season, 19 of them arrived from the bench and a big chunk of those matches only saw Milner playing for nothing more than 30 minutes in each game.

Milner is 29 years old and he is well aware that at this stage of his career, it’s time to start analyzing what to do in the final seasons and years that are left in him. This is one of the biggest reasons of why he decided to join Liverpool as he left behind his career with Manchester United which expanded to almost 5 years.

A lot of people are baffled by Milner’s decision of leaving Manchester City and joining Liverpool. Manchester City indeed does have a better chance of snatching bigger titles such as: The Premier League and the Champions League. City are one of the favorites of becoming the new champions of England and taking the crown away from Chelsea but Liverpool on the other hand would be happy if they are able to secure a spot in the Champions League which is something that they failed to do in this past season.
