KLOPP PROVIDES LIVERPOOL INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF EVERTON CLASH

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is currency assessing his squad and is need confirmation from the club’s doctors on the players he will have available against Everton at the weekend. The Reds take on their rivals in the Merseyside derby on Saturday in a crunch Premier League tie as they look to move back into the top four in the table.


The manager has provided some news on a selection of his players, including Naby Keita, James Milner, and Fabinho. The trip all missed Tuesday night’s 2-0 win over German club RB Leipzig and are still facing a race against time to be fit enough to participate in the game this Saturday.

Keita looks set to already be ruled out if the tie, but Fabinho and Milner may still be in contention to feature this Saturday. The Liverpool players will all be assessed in groups in training ahead of the match this weekend, as the German head coach continues to battle with injury crises in a bid to turn things around at the club.

Liverpool’s inconsistent results this season have been blamed on the injuries that a number of their star players have suffered and fitness problems, with rumors making the rounds on Wednesday morning that Klopp was ready to step down as the Premier League Champions’ manager.

Keita has been out of action since December with a hamstring injury, and Fabinho missed their last Premier League game against Leicester City – a game which ended in a 3-1 defeat. Meanwhile, James Milner featured in the shock defeat at the King Power Stadium but was only able to play for 17 minutes. Speaking on the fitness of his players, Klopp said while Keita has recovered from his hamstring injury, he won’t be making a return against Everton because he is not yet fully fit.
