MILNER IMPRESSED WITH NEW PLAYER

Liverpool star James Milner is impressed with the display of new player Mohammed Salah.

The Egypt international joined for almost £40 million this summer and scored in his first appearance on Friday. Salah got the equalizer in the 1-1 draw against Wigan at the DW Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp broke the Reds transfer record for the player when he joined in from AS Roma. He joined the training last week where Milner has seen him play upclose.

“He’s a top player, he’s shown that in the little time that he’s been here and I’ve seen it playing up close also. He’s a great addition to the squad and it was nice for him to get off the mark as well,” Milner said.

The player has shown that he would be a great bargain to the club, especially in the attacking frontline. Salah joined Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho upfront in the pre-season friendly game. He was able to combine well with the rest of the team.

Milner praised the trio that played the game for their impressive performances.

“They are all top players and it’s easier when you are as good as they are. They are all lively with great imagination, movement and great touches and they can all see a pass and are all unselfish as well, so you need that and that’s a big part of our game obviously unselfish team play. With and without the ball those three players can do that,” Milner added.

Liverpool would still face Crystal Palace on Wednesday, before clashing with any of West Brom or Leicester over the weekend. Liverpool, West Brom, West Ham and Palace are competing for the Asia Trophy in the Far East.
